Change your business hours and prices without a developer
Hours and prices are the details customers check most, and the ones most often out of date. You almost never need a developer to change them. You do need to know where they live, on your site and off it.
Step 1: Find every place your hours appear
On a typical small business site, hours can show up in several places:
- The header or footer (often on every page).
- A "Contact" or "Visit us" page.
- The homepage.
- A booking or ordering tool.
- Special notices, such as a holiday banner.
Prices are usually on a services or menu page, but check the homepage and any downloadable price lists too.
Make a short list before you edit anything. Missing one spot is how sites end up saying two different things.
Step 2: Make the change yourself
Most website builders and content systems let you edit text directly:
- Log in to your site's admin or editor.
- Open the page or section where the hours appear. If they are in the footer, look for a "footer", "widgets" or "site settings" area.
- Edit the text and save or publish.
- Open the live site on your phone and check every spot on your list.
If you cannot find where something is edited, it may be part of your theme or template. That is the point where people usually call a developer, but your platform's help pages often cover it.
Step 3: Update hours outside your website
Customers often see your hours before they reach your site:
- Your business listing on map and search services.
- Your social media profiles.
- Directories and booking platforms you use.
Update these at the same time. Conflicting hours online cost trust quickly.
Step 4: Plan for the next change
- Seasonal hours: write them down in advance so updating is a five-minute job.
- Holiday closures: add a dated notice and remember to remove it afterwards.
- Prices: if they change often, consider whether listing "from" prices or inviting a quote makes more sense than exact figures.
When doing it yourself stops making sense
Doing it yourself is fine if changes are rare and the editor is easy. It stops making sense when updates keep slipping down your to-do list, when you dread logging in, or when you are not sure you found every spot.
Where Yulpo fits
Yulpo is an AI agent that keeps your website current. It works with WordPress sites first; Yulpo's connector publishes the changes, so you never edit WordPress yourself.
Yulpo is built for owners who would rather say what changed than edit pages.
- It keeps your site current through a chat window. Instead of logging in and hunting for every spot, you describe the change.
- It sharpens your existing website: a better hero, a better lead capture section and better design. Not a redesign.
- It costs $99/month.
